Privacy and terms.
How this site handles your visit, the soft handshake, and the limited data it collects.
The soft handshake
The portfolio sits behind a bot check and a well-formed email or phone number. This is a soft gate: it confirms you are a person and routes you to the right content. It is not an account, a paywall, or a registration.
The credential you enter is checked for shape only. It is not added to a marketing list, sold, or shared. The signed cookie that unlocks the portfolio expires and carries no personally identifying payload.
What is recorded when you visit
Three measurement systems run on this site. All three send their data to servers this site controls, on this domain, and none of them records the email or phone number you type into the gate.
Categories collected
Across the three systems: device and browser metadata (screen size, browser name and version, operating system), approximate location derived from your IP address at the network edge, pages viewed, clicks, scroll depth, time on page, the site or link that referred you, an anonymous identifier stored in your browser, which variant of a page test you were shown, and, for a sample of visits, a session recording.
PostHog, and what "autocapture" means
PostHog Inc. is a product analytics provider and processes this data on our behalf in its United States region. Requests reach it through ph.offbrain.ai, a gateway on our own domain that strips every header carrying your IP address and replaces the address PostHog would otherwise derive with 0.0.0.0 before forwarding anything. PostHog receives an approximate country, not an address.
PostHog runs in autocapture mode. That means clicks, page views, and form interactions are recorded automatically, without a decision being made about each one in advance. It is worth stating plainly because it is broader than a hand-picked event list: if you click something on this site, the click was probably recorded.
Retention is 12 months for events, 30 days for session recordings, and 90 days for the anonymous browser identifier. The data is not sold and is not shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Session recording, and what is masked
Roughly one visit in five is recorded as a session replay: a reconstruction of what the page looked like and where the cursor and scroll went. Text you type into any form field is masked in your browser before the recording is transmitted, so the email or phone you enter at the gate is never in the recording and never reaches PostHog. Recording never runs on the administration pages.
Page tests
Some pages exist in more than one version. You may be shown one of them, and which one you were shown is recorded so the versions can be compared. The assignment is stored in a cookie or in PostHog and carries nothing about you.
The other two systems
A first-party beacon writes page views, section dwell time, scroll depth, gate steps, and outbound clicks to storage owned by this site. It has run here since before PostHog was added and keeps running while the two are compared. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights record page traffic and page-load performance. Neither records raw IP addresses or the credential you enter at the gate.
Cloudflare Turnstile runs the bot check. The challenge runs in your browser; the token it produces is verified server-side and discarded.
Your identifier stays on this domain
The anonymous identifier is scoped to aanderson.ai. It is not joined to any identifier from another site, and no profile is built across domains.
Turning it off
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, PostHog is switched off before it sends anything: no events, no session recording, no identifier written. The first-party beacon and Vercel Analytics honour the same two signals. Visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland get nothing at all until they turn it on, and a notice at the bottom of the page is how they do that.
The current state for this browser, and the switch:
Age
This site is a professional portfolio. It is not directed at children under 13 and no data is knowingly collected from them.
Case studies and claims
Case studies on this site describe business problems and the work done to address them. Brand names, market context, and measured findings are stated as findings from named studies. They are not guarantees of future performance. Internal program names, instruments, and material that is confidential to a former employer are generalized or omitted.
The résumé, full case detail, personal media, and writing are gated behind the soft handshake.
